We have collected the best TV series from the UK for you. Almost all of them can be seen in one day.
Brassic (2019)
A group of friends, led by Vinnie O’Neil (Joseph Gilgun), a young man with bipolar disorder and a difficult childhood, is trying to make a living through criminal means.
But more often than not, the friends’ affairs do not end in success, and they are also connected with some kind of absurdity: either the neighbor’s pony is stolen, or the sperm of a rare bull (at worst, a contract killing of aquarium fish). In general, it’s not life, but the situation is surreal.
Killing Eve (2018 – 2022)
Killing Eve is about two women who are on opposite sides of the fence but become obsessed with each other. In the story, MI5 agent Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh), a modest woman who lives a very boring life, begins the hunt for the psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer). But this is not a typical spy detective story, but a drama full of grotesqueries and black humor.
Fleabag (2016 – 2019)
Fleabag is the name given to the main character of the series, a young girl with an ironic mindset, a large bouquet of psychological problems and sexual preoccupation, as well as a constant desire to behave differently from what others expect.
Good Omens (2019)
A hilarious British fairy tale, made in theatrical form, about an angel (Michael Sheen) and a demon (David Tennant) who work together to prevent the apocalypse.
Years and Years (2019)
British series from 2019, sometimes even too relevant. 15 years of the history of one family with all its successes and failures. The topic is life in a world where politicians like Donald Trump are increasingly popular, and mass immigration is less and less popular.
Sex Education (2019 – 2023)
A hit dramedy about the son of a sex therapist, who suddenly discovers that the atmosphere of sexual literacy that reigned in his home can be profitably monetized in high school. He takes on the team the main rebel from his class and begins to give classmates consultations – of course, not for free.
The Great British Baking Show (2010)
Many people call this show one of the most peaceful shows on all of Netflix. The amateur baker’s competition is similar to other culinary competitions, but the stakes are not as high and it takes place in colorful tents among idyllic green hills.
Peaky Blinders (2013 – 2022)
Historical drama. The action takes place in the British countryside shortly after the end of the First World War. The Peaky Blinders are a family gang that actually once had a lot of influence in Birmingham. In the story, bandits attract the attention of the government; A private detective hired by the authorities begins a hunt for them.
Crashing (2016)
A completely insane British version of Friends. The intertwining stories of six twenty-year-old friends who live in a former hospital building.
The Crown (2016 – 2023)
The series is about the life of Queen Elizabeth II – from her accession to the throne in 1947 to the 21st century. A fascinating yet detailed historical drama dedicated to the life and legacy of this great woman.
Inside No. 9
Created by the people behind The League of Gentlemen, this darkly comedic anthology series is the spiritual successor to Roald Dahl’s Tales of Tales.
Each episode takes place in a new location, somehow connected to Number Nine, giving the creators free reign to explore everything from a very quick game of sardine to a hotel farce told in iambic pentameter. It’s funny no less than it’s scary.
Broadchurch (2013 – 2017)
This detective series is set in the (fictional) English village of the same name in Dorset, on the English Channel. The main characters are provincial policemen; one crime per season.
Collateral (2018)
Police drama in four parts. A London inspector is assigned to investigate the murder of a pizza delivery man, and soon this mundane crime leads her into a whole tangle of complicated stories.
Sherlock (2010 – 2017)
Most likely, you have already watched it, but still: this is a modern adaptation of Conan Doyle’s eternal books about Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, his constant companion Dr. Watson is played by Martin Freeman, the action takes place in England today.
Watson, as always, returns from the Afghan war, rents an apartment with Holmes and begins to help him in his investigations, but this time the doctor has a blog.
Bodyguard (2018)
A war veteran becomes the personal security guard of the Minister of the Interior, an ambitious political figure whose program directly contradicts the hero’s personal beliefs. As their relationship develops, it becomes more and more difficult for the hero to fulfill his duty.
Top Boy (2011)
One of the residential areas of East London; two friends are involved in the drug business and dream of becoming the richest guys in the area. Adventurous moments in the spirit of a classic gangster drama are interspersed with realistic episodes in which ordinary ghetto residents try to solve their daily and simple problems.
The End of the F***ing World (2017 – 2019)
Based on the comic book of the same name. The journey of two teenagers: James, a self-proclaimed psychopath who dreams of killing his rebellious classmate, and Alyssa, his rebellious classmate.
When Alyssa suggests they run away from home and gets them both involved in a crazy adventure, a strange friendship begins between the fugitives that develops into something more.
Call the Midwife (2012)
London 1950s. Jenny, a midwife who has just graduated from medical school, goes to her first patient – to the monastery. Finding a common language with strict nuns is not easy, but her colleagues support her.
Derry Girls (2018 – 2022)
A British sitcom about Northern Ireland, right at the time when bombs were exploding there. Four teenage girls, one boy, closed girls’ Catholic school. Sharp and unexpectedly deep jokes; youth in an era of national crisis.
The IT Crowd (2006 – 2013)
A comedy about three employees of the technical support department of the fictional corporation Reynholm Industries. Tech support was banished to the basement, and there the department became its own microcosm.
Lovesick (2014 – 2018)
Dylan, a young man from Glasgow who is literally suffering from love sickness, must find all his previous lovers to break the news to them: he has chlamydia. The stories of his flatmates unfold in the background.

Lulu: “Our Mama and Dada liked ‘Killing Eve’ a lot, except for some reason they pretend the last season doesn’t exist. Very strange.”
